Wine + Data Success Story: Analyzing Performance History to Plan for Harvest 2023 and Beyond

“Run a performance history on each of our wine SKUs.”

That was Meghan Raynes’ initial wine + data objective heading into this year’s harvest, so that she could plan sales and promotions for the months to come. Meghan is the Sales and Member Experience Manager at Early Mountain Vineyards, and knowing the history of when each wine sold best makes a lot of sense for optimizing marketing efforts.

Knowing your wines’ performance history makes a lot of sense. But it isn’t necessarily an easy thing to do if you need to do it manually, SKU by SKU and vintage by vintage. Enolytics’ technology makes it a far easier lift.

In addition, we categorize the wines into one of four segments:

  1. Top Performers

  2. Promising Prospects

  3. Worth Checking Into

  4. Lagging Behind

The tool is called the “Magic Quadrant,” and it’s magic because you have immediate insights about how your wines are performing relative to each other.

That’s the first level of Meghan’s idea to analyze wine performance history in order to plan for the future. She also realized pretty quickly that knowing the performance history would also be a huge help for Early Mountain’s production, tasting and accounting teams. For those teams to plan, that is, and anticipate demand for the blends and volume of bottles needed for next season.

This is where forecasting comes in, which is another tool “baked in” to the software. Based on historical performance, we visualize forecasted revenues and cases sold for the next 12 to 24 months. It can be done at the level or the specific wine or the varietal, and it can be vintage agnostic as well.

That’s the second level of Meghan’s idea, and it’s exciting to see how her initial objective comes to life with the help of the “Magic Quadrant” and forecasting tools.

Your winery the same DTC data that Meghan’s winery has. The question is how strategically you want to use it, to make decisions now and for the future.

The tools are ready for you to give them a test-run. Get in touch about our 30-day free trial period – there is no risk to you, and we do not even ask for a credit card. We typically have you up and running within a week.

There’s plenty of time to tap into your own historical data – just like Meghan has – and build a strong strategy for the future of this year’s harvest, this year’s holiday season, and the months and years beyond.

We’d love to help you with that.

Thank you, as always, for reading and for your support along this very exciting journey –
