2022 Highlights for Wine + Data: Year-End Note from Our Founder

What a year it's been.

For our last Enolytics 101 of 2022, we wanted to share twelve favorite highlights from the previous twelve months of wine + data.

The highlights, exciting and innovative as they already are, also provide a sturdy and promising foundation for 2023 and beyond.

We can't wait to go there with you.

But for now, let's give this rewind a whirl.

2022 Highlight One: Combining DTC and depletion data for a full 360-degree view of winery sales, thanks to our new working relationship with VIP.

2022 Highlight Two: Deepened partnership with WineDirect. Our software is built natively (though not exclusively) to WineDirect and this year, we also analyzed 200 million+ anonymized DTC records from WineDirect's deep historical trove. That led to a series of freely available thought leadership reports, starting with the 2021 DTC Impact Report in January followed by quarterly updates ever since.

2022 Highlight Three: Enolytics' innovative work was recognized in multiple ways by our peers both inside and outside the industry. Ron Scott, our CTO, was recognized as a Vizlib Legend, and I was honored by a Wine Enthusiast Wine Star Award nomination for Innovator of the Year and by the Wine Industry Network as a Most Inspiring Person. Enolytics was also a featured commentator in Valerie Kathawala's thoroughly-researched article for SevenFifty Daily about the power of data-driven decision making for the wine industry.

2022 Highlight Four: Expanded our partnership ecosystem further to fully integrate with Commerce7 for DTC analytics. We also participated in Commerce7 webinars, including one about the top highlight on this list, combining DTC and depletion data.

2022 Highlight Five: Onboarded our first customer in Australia, and refined the Enolytics offering to also include an "Australian accent."

2022 Highlight Six: Offered several no-cost opportunities, including a 30-day free trial and identifying customers at risk of leaving your wine club, in order for wineries to freely experiment with Enolytics' technology and get to know the system.

2022 Highlight Seven: Expanded our partnership ecosystem again through a case study with RedChirp, industry-leading specialists for selling wine through text messages. We'll be releasing the results of that case study shortly.

2022 Highlight Eight: Deepened our education offerings further through Lunch + Learn sessions and Master Classes, both live and on-demand through our website and Support Portal.

2022 Highlight Nine: Enhanced our offering for all customers, at both the Daily and Enterprise levels, to include Daily and Weekly email updates of performance as well as data quality.

2022 Highlight Ten: Developed apples-to-apples comparison reports at no cost to any WineDirect customer, that benchmarks the winery's performance against their competitive set as defined by price per bottle.

2022 Highlight Eleven: Partnered with Georgia Tech to sponsor 30 graduate students in data science, specifically around machine learning and financial modeling.

2022 Highlight Twelve: Thought leadership presentations at industry gatherings virtually and in person around the world, from Vancouver with Commerce7 to Bologna with MBA students in Food and Wine Management to Bendigo with the Wine Industry Suppliers Association. Happily, with travel opening up more freely, that trend will continue to grow into 2023.

Whew.

It's time for a rest and recharge. I wish the same for you, because we've all got a big year ahead.

Thank you for joining us on this journey.

Here’s to a happy and prosperous holiday season, and see you in 2023 —
Cathy
